One of my oldest friends is the smartest person I know. She averaged 99.8% through high school, won a massive scholarship to study physics at McGill University, and plays like 3 instruments and can also paint really well. Anyways, after McGill, she came back to BC, and went to the University of BC, I guess to do this.

This is the project she’s been working on with some others for quite a while. I don’t understand technology that I can’t see, so I don’t know how significant or a big deal this is. But it seems really cool. I mean they made the news, so that’s pretty awesome.

I’m not sure what exactly needs folding or stretching that can use such a sensor right now, but I reckon that months or years down the line someone is going to be grateful that the tech exists.

A map susceptible to EMPs probably isn’t it.

This is starting to become a big thing now. Basically it opens the doors for more flexible technology a lot of which probably will be wearable. It’s a big breakthrough for curved screens which opens a lot of doors for more creative advertising as well. Probably within the next decade or so laptops/tablets will basically be even more mobile than a really thin magazine.
